Mrs. Rhodes' MS Art Olympics

5th Grader Jackson creates an iMovie advertisement for the Olympics and Subway in Art with Mrs. Rhodes using staff members and students.  Below are some of the students' art projects...if you look closely you will see how we use overhead transparencies...for Olympic hockey rinks!

Miss Reed's Adobe Notation Tools

Miss Reed is having the students read and annotate on documents digitally.  She attached a PDF to Edmodo, the students downloaded it and used the notation tools through Adobe and the PDF previewer to annotate using the highlighting tool, boxes, circles, text bubbles and different colors.  You could easily make a "key" for the students and have certain colors/shapes/underline represent certain ideas, etc. Great way to save paper and not having to make a copy for every student and of course the students love it!

Ms. Harrison's MS/HS iWriteMusic App

Ms. Harrison is using the app iWriteMusic to type in their sight singing examples on her iPad which she then projects using her Apple TV.  She says this has been a great upgrade from chalk to digital form!  All the students can see the notes that are clearly written.  It is a free app that gives the option to play back what you've written and add up to 4 voices at the same time.  Students could use this app to compose also!

Mr. Rewerts 7th Current Events/Wider Image App

Mr. Rewerts Current Events class created news stories using current events.
This one was created  by making a podcast using GarageBand.
is a great app for viewing current events on the iPad.  You can browse through images quickly using thumbnail form for news stories and cultural events around the world.

Miss Reed's 7th LA Skypes for Civil Rights Movement

Miss Reed's 7th Grade classes Skyped with author Paula Young Shelton from Washington D.C.  She spoke to the classes about what life was like growing up as a "Child in the Civil Rights Movement" (her book title).  The students were well prepared by Miss Reed with a very in depth list of questions...the first question asked?...  What was one of your most memorable experiences as a child...her response is in discussed HERE and speaks about being at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's funeral.  I tweeted about it and Skype Classroom retweeted my post!

Dr. Seuss StoryMaker

http://www.seussville.com/games/storymaker/story_maker.html
Easily and quickly have students create digital stories!  Students do not have to create a login which is always a timesaver.  Choose backgrounds, characters, music, and type what the characters say.  Story is created!

Mrs. Bisoni-Lais's 3rd Google Drive

Mrs. Bisoni-Lais's 3rd graders researching their continents in Google Drive.  Peer editing by sharing the document with one another is a great way to save each other from missing points!  I loved how enthusiastic the kids were about being able to research directly within their Google Doc by using the research tool as well as drag in pictures. They also loved sharing their documents with one another for editing as well as being able to work from home!

SuperTeacherTools

A great website with free Super Teacher Tools...including easy games you can create like Jeopardy and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Speed Match, and Board Game Review. There are also other tools like timers, seating chart/team generators, random name picker and a QR code maker.

Mr. Rewerts 7th Grade Social Studies Edmodo

Mr. Rewerts 7th Grade Social Studies class is now on Edmodo.  They are starting to go paperless by having Mr. Rewerts post their assignments online and then the students submit them back through Edmodo and he will use the Notability App on his iPad to grade them and turn them back to the students with feedback digitally.

Mr. Martin's 7th Grade Online Math Book

Mr. Martin has placed his online textbook on his teacher page for students to access.
Last week we had students login and
